Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy (upper endoscopy) is an important examination for diagnosing stomach diseases. During the procedure, the lining of the stomach is examined using a camera. Tissue samples (biopsies) can be taken from the lining of the stomach, esophagus, and duodenum for further histological analysis.

I take plenty of time to thoroughly prepare you for the examination in my praxis. The gastroscopy is performed gently and painlessly under conscious sedation.

Preparation for Gastroscopy:

You may eat up to 6 hours before the procedure and drink clear liquids (tea, water, coffee without milk) up to 2 hours before the examination.
