Gentle Gastroscopy under Anaesthetic
The gastroscopy is performed with the patient under sedation. Patients are therefore asleep and do not notice they are being examined.
Gastroscopy is the most important examination for the clarification of various gastric diseases, since one can look at the mucous membrane of the stomach by means of a camera. Tissue samples are taken from the stomach mucosa, optionally the oesophagus and duodenum, for further histological examination.
